Music Lessons
Educating and encouraging musicians is one of the most rewarding aspects of our business. You’re never too old to rock and roll, or explore your favourite musical instrument and genre. We give on-site music lessons at all three of our Sound Advice locations in Courtenay, Campbell River, and Port Alberni on Vancouver Island. No matter which instrument you choose, our primary focus is for students to enjoy the experience of making music and we welcome students of all ages and skill levels. Click here for booking form.
Sound Advice offers music lessons customized to each student’s musical tastes and abilities. Whether you want to learn a few chords to play around the campfire or attain and maintain university level music instruction, we offer private music lessons individually tailored to meet your goals. (If you’re looking for a particular method of instruction (i.e. Suzuki Method), please contact us to see if the program is supported by one of our private instructors.) We also provide a selection of printed music, lesson books, instructional videos and resources to complement your personal music instruction.
Music lessons are offered year round and scheduled on a first-come-first served basis. Students need to have their own instrument, and you get a free trial lesson if you’ve purchased your instrument at Sound Advice. You can also ask about instrument rental programs; we work with local school districts to facilitate band instrument rentals for school music students as well as for private individuals. Weekly on-site music lessons are $19 per half hour of instruction, payable in advance at the beginning of each month. We offer and require 24-hour notice for music lesson cancellations or rescheduling.
